Depression
Depression is a word that economists try to avoid using at all costs. Most financial experts don't want to even use the word recession. Depression is also a state of mind that many of us deny on a regular basis, and judging by the continued growth in the use of anti-depressants by Americans, try to mask at all costs. Has the country reached depression? Can a political leader today change the dynamic of depression in a nation so divided?

Culture

Culture can mean enlightenment, shared attitudes or integrated patterns and practices in an organization. It can also mean yogurt. Are we at war with ourselves over the various cultures we choose to inhabit as expressions of who we are? Have we categorized ourselves into such rigid groups we no longer seek new and differing alternatives for meaning and truth? What does culture mean to you?

Change
What does change mean? It now finds universal currency in the presidential political sound bites of hopeful candidates vowing to bring the country something different than the depressing tenure of our current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. All things are different from one moment to the next, and change is non stop throughout our lives, but the perception that a sameness exists for long periods of time flies in the face of the laws that define our universe. What does change mean to you?
